Dear friends,
Energy is essential to our way of life. At the same time, concerns about future energy supply and climate change have heightened interest in energy supply options, energy prices and the effect of energy use on the environment.
As part our social responsibility, we need to taking part in, "EARTH HOUR" a worldwide project on global warming by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). . Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative showing how individuals, communities, businesses and governments can address the threat of global warming if we resolve to work on it together.
"EARTH HOUR" aims to reach out to 1 billion people across the World on Saturday, 27 March 2010 (Sat) at 8.30 pm. One thousand cities around the world will turn off their lights for one hour to show that it is possible to take action on global warming.
On 27 March 2010 (Sat) from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, we need to turn off the lights, aircon supplies, etc. You can do your part by switching off the power source of your computer CPU, monitors and lights at your workstation.
As part of the "GO GREEN" initiatives, the following energy conservation measures have been implemented:-
1. Be bright about light
Turn off the lights when you are leaving any room for more than 10 minutes.
Use natural lights where possible
Turn off the lights when leaving the office for lunch break
Turn off meeting room lights after use
2. Maximize computer efficiency
Make it a habit to turn off your computer, printers, copiers, etc from the power source when you leave for the day.
3. Print smarter
Make it a habit to print on both sides
Recycle old documents for faxes or drafts
4. Go paperless when possible
5. Ramp up your recycling
Make it a habit to recycle material used in the office
Make it a policy to purchase office supplies made from recycled materials
6. Building Facilities
Reduce after office hours air-con operation unless necessary
Only 2 lifts would be in operation after 8pm.
Car park lightings would be reduced after 8pm on weekdays
We trust that the above measures will not be an inconvenience to you.
I would encourage everyone's cooperation to play a part in energy conservation.
"GO GREEN" today! Preserver our living place for next generation!! You can do it...
Best Regards,
Thanks & Regards,
Sudarsan
